REMOTE SERVICE PROJECT
Dear Parents,
If you're looking for a service-oriented activity for your kids while they are home from school with you, please consider having them write to home-bound members of our wards. I mean we're all home-bound but due to their age, these sisters and brothers are absolutely sheltering at home this next month and many live alone. (Also feel free to do this with members of your family who are far away from you at this time as well!)
We've attached a few letter prompts for you to print (or copy via a pen and paper)—for your kids to complete and mail to members (Email Erin for a complete list). Even a drawing and/or art your children make could be a lovely way for some of these older friends to greet the week.
You could also encourage these members to write back to your children so that a pen pal relationship could start—A way of keeping us connected even while we're apart and something to look forward to in the mail. (Please also prep your kids just in case some folks aren't able or willing to write back).
Your participation is totally voluntary and there's no need to tell us which person you're writing, if any! We don't want to stress you out. Your kids could each send a note to a different person as well. Whatever works for you!
Out of an abundance of caution and to avoid any of our older members from feeling concerned with the spread of germs, please be sure to NOT lick the envelope but instead use tape or glue to close the envelopes--and feel free to convey your adherence to this precaution to them in the letter or on the envelope.
If you’ve never met these individuals, please send to them anyway and introduce yourselves so they know you’re in the same ward/building at church.
With all our love~your Primary Presidency
